Privacy Policy
FormaFile is built around local-first processing. For file tools, your files are processed in your browser and stay on your device unless you choose to save the result.
Last updated: May 21, 2026
FormaFile's file tools run locally in your browser. When you merge PDFs, split PDFs, resize images, crop images, or convert files, the file data is not sent to FormaFile servers for processing.
Processed files are temporarily stored in your browser storage (for example, IndexedDB) so FormaFile can show your results on the results screen. Those results stay on your device unless you save, export, or share them yourself.
If you use the Recent Work page, FormaFile may also store lightweight, device-only metadata in localStorage (for example: which tool ran, when it ran, and how many output files were created) so you can quickly return to your last job on this browser. File contents are not stored in localStorage.
The contact form is different from the file tools. If you submit a contact request, the message, your email address, and any attachment you include are transmitted over the internet so we can respond. Do not send sensitive documents through the contact form.
Like most websites, hosting infrastructure may collect limited operational data such as request logs, browser type, and approximate usage diagnostics for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
FormaFile uses minimal anonymous analytics through Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, measure feature adoption, and improve reliability. Analytics is on by default, but you can turn it off anytime from the visible Privacy & Analytics toggle in the footer. We configure analytics to anonymize IP addresses, disable Google Signals, disable ad personalization, and avoid any User-ID or cross-site advertising features. We do not send filenames, file contents, uploaded documents, PDF/image data, personal information, advertising identifiers, or sensitive user data.
Questions
If you have privacy questions, use the contact form linked in the footer and avoid attaching sensitive personal or business files. File processing happens locally in your browser, and the contact form is the only feature that sends user-submitted content over the internet.
